John Kinder established Rivertrade in 2000 as a private investment company.

John was formerly a Director of the hedge fund and commodities broker Man Group plc from 1987 to 1999. He was a member of the senior management team that launched Man Group on the London Stock Exchange. During his time at Man Group he held the position of Global Managing Director of its sugar division from 1987-1999 managing over 1,800 staff worldwide. He was until 2004 a non-executive director of Greencore plc, a company listed on the London and Dublin stock exchanges. John sits on many of the Boards of the companies in which Rivertrade has invested and is actively involved in charities including the Eric Evans Trust and Tennis For Free. John is a graduate of Cambridge University.
